Local speech to text
IraVoice is a private dictation app for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Hold Right Command on a Mac or Right Ctrl on Windows, speak naturally, and release: the words are typed into the field you were using. On IraVoice Local, speech recognition runs on your computer with NVIDIA Parakeet, so your audio and text are not sent to any server.
The speech model downloads once, on first run (about 700 MB for the default Parakeet Unified EN). After that, dictation works without a connection. The app contacts api.iravoice.com only for trial and license check-ins, which carry a salted hash of a hardware ID, and for update checks. A license checks in weekly and keeps working offline for 30 days.
Offline, defined precisely
Local describes where recognition runs. Offline describes whether dictation needs a connection once setup is done. IraVoice names the model download, the license check-ins, and the optional Cloud plan (coming soon) instead of hiding them behind an absolute claim.
01 · One download
The default Parakeet Unified EN model is about 700 MB. Other offline models cover 25+ languages, including Parakeet v3 for 25 European languages and Whisper large-v3-turbo for about 100.
02 · Local processing
On IraVoice Local, no audio or text leaves your computer. There is no cloud transcript account, meeting archive, or server that receives what you say.
03 · Light check-ins
Trial and license check-ins send a salted hash of a hardware ID, never your words. Dictation keeps working offline for 30 days between check-ins.

IraVoice Cloud, coming soon, will send audio and text to IraVoice Cloud for Cloud recognition and AI polish: IraVoice’s servers never store them, Groq does not retain inference data (its temporary abuse logging is switched off), Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, and neither trains on them. Both features will be switchable off in the app.
No. IraVoice is live dictation into the app you are using. It is not a saved-audio transcription tool, meeting recorder, or batch media transcriber.
IraVoice 1.2.2 runs on macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon, on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (x64), and on 64-bit Linux from 2022 or later (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 36 and newer), in beta. Intel Macs are not supported yet.

IraVoice pastes at the cursor in the focused app, which covers most text fields, terminals, and editors. Some protected fields, such as password boxes, block typed input by design.
